Chicken balls

Ingredients (for around 6 servings):

  • 500 gram chicken minced meat
  • 3 eggs
  • half a cup soy-granules
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 5 big cloves of garlic
  • bread crumbs for coating
  • salt
  • oregano
  • oil for deep frying.


Soak the soy-granules in hot water. Put the chicken mince in a big bowl, clean the garlic and press them over the meat. Crack the eggs and add them to the meat. Pour one and a half tea spoon of salt over the mixture. Squeeze as much water as you can from the Soya-granules. The easiest way to do this is to put them into a strainer and press the water out with a big spoon.

Add the granules and the oats to the mixture. Include a generous amount of oregano. Now mix everything well. The mixture should have a smooth consistency, not too soft so you can form balls easily. Spread bread crumbs in a plate and turn all the balls around in the crumbs so they are evenly coated.

Now your balls are ready for cooking. You can either deep fry them for around 5 minutes or you fry them in enough oil in a pan. Deep frying is easier as you don’t have to spin the balls to get them evenly done. Let them rest on kitchen towels to drain excess oil and serve them immediately.
