How to cook Pasta

You need a big pot to cook pasta. Fill it with at least 3 liters of water and put it on the fire. Add the salt only when the water is already boiling. Salted water takes longer to reach the boiling point. When the water is boiling, you can throw in the pasta and stir it, so it does not stick to the bottom of the pot. You need about 100 until 150 grams of pasta per person. Always cook the pasta without the lid on top of the pot. Stir it occasionally and cook it as long as is mentioned on the package of the pasta. If you like your pasta very much al dente, you can cook it one minute less. If you like your pasta well cooked, cook it one minute longer. When the pasta is done, strain it, mix it immediately with the sauce and serve it with freshly grated Parmiggiano or Grana cheese. You can find Parmiggiano or Grana in good supermarkets. I don’t know if you will be able to find it in rural India.

Take a lot of care once you have drained the pasta. Never keep cooked pasta in the cooking pot as it will stick together quickly. You always need to have the sauce ready before your pasta is cooked. Thus you can mix everything easily.
